A vertebrate paleontologist, evolutionary biologist and geologist by training, David Polly studies how environmental change affects animals and plants and interacts with other systems, such as rivers and landscapes.
His research focuses on scientific evidence for environmental change past, present and future, and he uses tools such as remote sensing, big data, computational modeling and geospatial analysis to analyze findings.
Polly leads ERI’s Dynamic Earth Systems team.
