The ERI data platform, led by Institute data manager Justin Peters, will enable the integration of datasets from open data platforms with Institute-generated data through a common software used by many federal, state, and local governments.
ERI’s ArcGIS open data hub uses IU’s ArcGIS online organization to host data and content. ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based suite of professional geographic information system (GIS) tools users can access from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. ArcGIS Online provides tools for compiling, visualizing, analyzing, editing, managing, and sharing geospatially enabled data.
A variety of applications, visualizations, interactive maps, and story map narratives can be added to web pages hosted on the ERI open data portal and administered through a web-based graphical user interface similar to other IU web content management systems.
IU affiliates can create an ArcGIS online account and upload their data or content to share with the community.
