Modernizing map data

IndianaMap is the largest public collection of geographic information systems (GIS) and map data in the state. An IU-based team is updating the platform and creating a spatial knowledge hub capable of communicating Institute data on environmental change to the general public.

Results of models, simulations, and other datasets relied upon and built by Institute researchers will be added to the growing number of datasets made available on IndianaMap and the Indiana Spatial Data Portal, creating an accessible platform for statewide environmental projections generated by the Institute.

Work to augment the architecture and codebase of IndianaMap to allow for greater extensibility, interoperability, and performance is being led by the Institute's Ben Romlein.
