Creating a network of sustainability

Are you part of a business, nonprofit, or local government that would like to advance climate, sustainability, and resilience within your organization? Apply to host a McKinney Climate Fellow!

We are interested in Indiana-based project proposals from all sectors. If you represent a local government agency interested in implementing a specific climate project with technical and Fellow support, consider joining our Resilience Cohort program.

Interested in hosting a fellow?

Partners who are interested in hosting a McKinney Climate Fellow should book an intake meeting.

Building Indiana’s sustainability workforce capacity

Partner Commitment

  • Supervise and mentor climate fellow during 10- to 12-week externship
  • Draft fellow position description (with ERI support)
  • Provide financial support for programming and student scholarships
  • Participate in a host site visit with ERI staff
  • Identify or provide local housing for fellow

 

Partner Benefit

  • Receive a skilled and motivated undergraduate or graduate student to work full-time for 400 hours over a 10-12 week period in summer, or part-time for 200 hours per semester in fall/spring
  • ERI staff recruit, vet, and hire students on your behalf
  • Access to ERI and the McKinney Midwest Climate Project programming, including webinars, trainings, and peer learning

A grant from the McKinney Family Foundation underwrites a portion of the costs associated with the McKinney Climate Fellows, however, many more opportunities exist to maximize the project’s potential.
