Resilience Cohort

The Resilience Cohort program helps Indiana local governments measure, manage, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In 2019, 14 Indiana communities completed community-scale greenhouse gas inventories in coordination with IU students and staff. In 2020, the program is helping communities develop their own climate action plans.

Indiana Sustainability Development Program

ERI partners with Sustain IU's Indiana Sustainability Development Program to connect talented and motivated graduate and undergraduate students with Indiana local governments, businesses, and nonprofits. Through ISDP, these student externs work on-site for 10 weeks over the summer on sustainability and resilience projects.

In just a few short years, the Environmental Resilience Institute has proven invaluable to cities and towns. The data and educational resources being provided by the institute are critical new tools that local officials have never had before.
